EBEC 2017 – application is open

Would you like to compete in the biggest engineering competition in Europe? 

The 25-26 of February the local round of Europe’s biggest engineering competition EBEC will be held in Lund. You don’t need any prior knowledge to allpy and it does not matter if it is you first year at LTH or your last. A team of four people compete in either team design or case study. During the competition day you will get ”fika” and lunch. The winners from the Case study and the Team design will get prices and a place in the Nordic round, which also will be held in Lund. The Winner form the Nordic round will then go to the final in Brno, Czech Republic.

Rules
1. Each team must consist of 4 persons.
2. Your team compete in either Case study or Team design.

Team design
In this category the competitors will use their practical skills to design. Competitors need to build a functional device regarding to a technical problem given in a limited amount of time and resources. Be it a little robot, a catapult or a bridge out of popsicle sticks, the challenging task will be set by the partnering company, the university or the organizers.

Case study
In this category the competitors need to prove their skills of analytic and economic thinking. Unlike Team Design, Case Study is more conceptual consisting of a theoretical, technical or a managerial problem occurring in real life or industry. Participants develop hypothetical solutions with no actual construction of any device or assembling of some materials, but using the given information. Be it a marketing strategy for a new product or new uses for an old one, the challenging task will be set by the partnering company, the university or the organizers.
